Job summary

Hurst Park Primary Academy is seeking a dedicated Playworker to join our wraparound care team. This term-time, fixed-term role fits around the school day with early mornings and after-school slots.

You will help children stay happy, safe and engaged through creative play, supervise activities, and support pupils’ social and emotional development. Experience in childcare is valued; NVQ Level 3 in childcare is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within a childcare or play provision.
• Ability to stay calm whilst things get busy.
• Top-notch communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Basic IT skills for simple tasks on computers or hand-held devices.
• NVQ Level 3 in childcare is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise exciting play activities for primary-aged children.
• Set up play areas and equipment to ensure they are safe and inviting.
• Prepare and serve snacks and refreshments.
• Chat with children about their worries or concerns, providing a supportive ear.
• Managing fair behaviour and dealing with any minor injuries or emergencies.
• Building great relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues.
