Job summary

Premier Education in Manningtree is seeking a Wraparound Care Playworker to help run our breakfast and after-school clubs for primary pupils. You’ll create a fun, safe and inclusive environment, delivering activities and supporting children before and after school.

The role is term-time only, part-time (24 hours per week) with shifts including mornings and afternoons; pay ranges from £8.00 to £12.71 per hour, with pay bands by age. Training and DBS check are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children (paid or voluntary).
• Ability to create safe, fun and inclusive play for children of all ages and abilities.
• Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from the Site Lead.
• Understanding of safeguarding and children’s wellbeing.
• A warm, patient and encouraging approach to working with children.
• Reliable transport to attend sessions on time, including morning and afternoon shifts.
• Willingness to complete required safeguarding, paediatric first aid and food hygiene training, and undergo an Enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver fun, inclusive play activities.
• Support daily club operations including safe handover of children.
• Provide age-appropriate personal care when needed.
• Set up play areas, refreshments and maintain safety.
• Encourage positive behaviour and activity choices.
• Build relationships with children, parents, schools and staff.
• Follow safeguarding, health and safety and EYFS; report concerns and administer first aid.
