Libertatem Healthcare Group is recruiting a Brain Injury Support Worker for a 2:1 supported care role in Bury, Manchester, working on a zero-hour contract. You will support a 14-year-old with brain injury at home and at school, including PEG feeding, medication, and hydrotherapy-related activities.

The role requires empathy, strong communication, and the ability to work independently as part of a caring team committed to safe, respectful care.

Formación

• Experience in a role supporting clients with brain injury preferred.
• Knowledge of PEG feeding and care desirable.
• Valid UK driving license required to drive during shifts and operate WAVs.
• Caring, compassionate nature with excellent communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsabilidades

• Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
• PEG feeding and medication
• Assisting with moving and handling and weekly hydrotherapy physio
• Preparing meals and supporting with nutrition
• Administering medication (training provided)
• Providing emotional support and companionship
• Supporting with moving and handling, mobility and physical activities
• Light housekeeping duties

About The Role

Brain Injury Support Worker
Location: Bury, Manchester
Salary: £16.08 per hour week-day shifts
Job Type: Zero-hour contract
Shifts: Mon-Thurs 9am-9pm, Friday 10am-8pm, Saturday 12pm-8pm

Role Overview:
We are offering an opportunity for experienced and dedicated Brain Injury Support Workers to join our new client in Bury, Manchester. You will be working on a 2:1 ratio supporting our 14-year-old male client both at home and school.

Our client has a brain injury with a PEG and is non-verbal, using an eye gaze. He attends hydrotherapy weekly, so support workers must be comfortable in water. To support his independence and lifestyle, we’re seeking support workers who are confident, empathetic, and capable of building a strong, trusting relationship.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience within a similar role, ideally supporting clients with Brain Injury.
• Experience and/or knowledge of PEG.
• A valid UK driving license essential to drive during shift and confident driving WAVs.
• A caring and compassionate nature
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
