The Company


Axon Moore are delighted to be working in collaboration with a growing business based in Barnsley. They are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team on a part-time basis.

Reporting into a supportive and engaging Leadership team, the role will be hands-on and varied. You will be the organisation's go-to finance person, with a genuine opportunity to develop processes and systems.


The role will be for around 18 hours a week with flexibility regarding the working hours.


As the only finance person in the organisation on a day-to-day basis, the role requires solid all-round experience in a varied role. You will have the support of a Finance Director.


The Job
  1. Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including income and expenditure.
  2. Ensure all month-end deadlines are met.
  3. Handle journals, accruals, and prepayments.
  4. Manage income allocations.
  5. Raise bank payments as required.
  6. Manage VAT processes.
  7. Prepare payroll information.
  8. Oversee sales ledger and purchase ledger.
  9. Work with the Executive Finance Director on ad hoc projects.
  10. Provide general administrative support for Finance.
  11. Provide regular updates to Senior Management about budget variances and financial performance.

  • Organised.
  • Solid experience within finance and administration.
  • AAT or QBE qualification.
  • Experience working for a fast-paced SME.
