Location: Hybrid (Central London + Remote)

Salary: £30–35K depending on experience

Ben Adams Finance is not your average accountancy firm. We’re the plug-and-play finance A-team for ambitious DTC startups, helping them grow from Seed to Series A with confidence, clarity, and the numbers to back it all up.

We do everything an in-house finance team and external accountant would – from bookkeeping to budgeting, payroll to year-end. But we do it better, faster, and with a team of sharp minds who get our clients’ businesses like they’re our own. Our clients love us because we’re proactive and work as part of their teams, caring about the tiny details and the big picture.

We’ve doubled revenue in a year. Now we’re looking for our second full-time hire and fifth team member overall – a bookkeeper who wants to grow with us.

What you’ll be doing

This is a hands-on role with real ownership, variety, and visibility. You’ll be a core part of the team, working directly with our founder and our clients’ internal teams.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Bookkeeping and financial admin
  • Making Payments andraising invoices
  • Chasing payables and managing expenses
  • Filing Payroll and VAT
  • Communicating with suppliers and clients
  • Using automation and AI tools to improve efficiency
  • Working closely with the rest of the team to deliver clear financial information

About you

We’re not looking for someone who ticks every box on paper. We’re looking for someone who’s curious, capable, and ready to grow. You might be a good fit if:

  • You have 1+ years’ experience using Xero, QuickBooks, or another cloud-based finance platform
  • You’ve got experience with accounting for stock and inventory systems.
  • You’re confident juggling multiple clients and love staying organised
  • You’ve used (or are excited to use) automation tools like Zapier and ChatGPT
  • You’re hungry to learn and want to go beyond just ticking boxes
  • You’ve got a good head for process and a great instinct for solving problems

AAT or other bookkeeping qualifications are a bonus, but not essential. DTC experience is strongly preferred.

What success looks like

In your first 3 months, you’ll:

  • Build close working relationships with our clients
  • Take ownership of your day-to-day without needing to be micromanaged
  • Spot improvements and share ideas
  • Start handling finance queries quickly and confidently

By 12 months, you’ll:

  • Have developed close client relationships, trusted by them for input on their business beyond the basics
  • Have implemented process improvements across accounts, making you significantly faster at daily tasks
  • Have grown in technical knowledge and confidence
  • Still feel excited to come to work (no Sunday scaries!)
