Job summary

A leading manufacturing business in Leeds is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage financial tasks including monthly reporting, payroll processing, and tax compliance. This permanent role requires proficient knowledge of accounting principles and experience with accounting software such as Sage and Xero.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or finance officer in a similar organization.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage and Xero.

Responsibilities

  • Producing monthly management reports for the Board.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely tax compliance and filings (VAT, Corporation Tax).
  • Processing payroll for 3 companies using Sage Payroll.

Job description

Tailored Recruitment is working with an established manufacturing business in Leeds to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Producing monthly management reports for the Board
  2. Managing purchase ledger payment runs
  3. Handling intercompany invoicing and payments
  4. Reconciling sales invoices monthly and supporting the fee process
  5. Managing all banking tasks, including bank reconciliations
  6. Ensuring accurate and timely tax compliance and filings (VAT, Corporation Tax)
  7. Processing payroll for 3 companies using Sage Payroll
  8. Posting payroll and tax journals accurately and recording liabilities
  9. Administering trustee pension scheme, including payroll for retirees and other payments
  10. Collaborating with a purchase ledger assistant and providing support as needed

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or finance officer in a similar organization
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage and Xero
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Exceptional communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Finance or accounting qualifications (AAT, ACCA, CIMA) are advantageous
