Responsibilities include operating boilers, turbines and plant equipment, optimising processes via the DCS, responding to alarms and maintaining safety and records. The package offers £39,000–£43,000 with ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

• Previous boiler operations or heavy industrial process experience.
• GCSE Maths and Science at Grade C / Level 5 or equivalent.
• Reliable and proactive with ability to work effectively within a shift team.
• Experience with DCS systems, process plant or mechanical, electrical or instrumentation background would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate boilers, turbines and associated plant equipment to maximise performance and steam generation.
• Optimise plant processes using the DCS control system by monitoring temperature, pressure and flow, taking corrective action where required.
• Respond to alarms, faults, plant upsets and emergencies to maintain safe and reliable operation.
• Operate the overhead waste crane and carry out plant attendant duties including FLT operations, loading and unloading vehicles and managing raw materials and ash removal.
• Maintain accurate operational records, support housekeeping standards and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental procedures.
