Slim Chickens is hiring a Back of House Supervisor at Meadowhall, Sheffield. You will oversee all kitchen operations, lead a team to deliver top-quality dishes, and ensure food safety and hygiene standards. This role requires strong leadership, organisation, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising kitchen teams in fast-paced environments.
• Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (HACCP).

• Ability to remain calm and work efficiently under pressure.
• Flexibility to work weekends, late nights and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee back-of-house operations and food preparation standards.
• Lead, mentor and motivate the kitchen team to deliver high-quality dishes.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Manage inventory, stock levels and timely ordering of supplies.
• Collaborate with Front of House to ensure seamless service.
• Address kitchen issues promptly to maintain smooth operations.
• Support staff training and development to uphold brand standards.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Overseeing all back-of-house operations to ensure efficient and consistent food preparation
• Leading, mentoring, and motivating the kitchen team to deliver high-quality dishes
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
• Managing inventory, monitoring food stock, and ensuring timely ordering of supplies
• Collaborating with the Front of House Supervisor to ensure seamless service
• Handling kitchen-related issues and resolving them promptly to maintain smooth operations
• Supporting staff training and development to uphold our brand’s high standards
• Creating a positive, productive work environment where the kitchen team can thrive

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a kitchen or similar fast-paced environment
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a kitchen team
• A passion for delivering consistent, high-quality food
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
• A deep understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to stay calm and efficient under pressure
• Flexible, availability that includes weekends, late nights and bank holidays - we're always on the go!
