Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Hull is seeking a Commercial Bodyshop Workshop Controller to lead a busy commercial bodyshop, coordinating workshop activity from estimate to completion and ensuring safety, quality and productivity. You will oversee scheduling, allocate repairs, liaise with estimators and management, maintain records and deliver excellent customer service.

This full-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary (£45,000–£55,000+ DOE), Monday to Friday hours (7:00am–4:30pm) and long-term

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Commercial Bodyshop Workshop Controller or similar.
• Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle body repairs and workshop processes.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily workshop activity to maximise productivity.
• Allocate repairs effectively across technicians based on workload and skill set.
• Monitor repair progress to ensure deadlines and quality standards are achieved.
• Liaise with estimators, parts departments and management to minimise repair delays.
• Support technicians with technical guidance and resolve operational issues where required.
• Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer specifications and health and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate workshop records and update job progress accordingly.
• Deliver excellent customer service by ensuring repairs are completed on time and to a high standard.
