Job summary

Group 1 Automotive is seeking a skilled automotive technician to prepare vehicles to a high standard and advise colleagues during repairs. You will work in a collaborative team to meet deadlines and maintain up-to-date product knowledge.

The role focuses on maintaining excellent service levels, safe working practices, and strong housekeeping in a busy workshop for UK customers.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent qualification.
• Current valid UK driving licence is required (MOT licence advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles to a high standard.
• Advise colleagues of any additional work needed during repairs.
• Work in a team to complete large jobs and meet deadlines.

What you'll do day to day

• Preparing vehicles to a high standard.
• Advising the Bodyshop/Service Advisor of any additional work necessary during the repair process.
• Working in a team to complete large jobs and assist colleagues where necessary to meet deadlines.
• Maintaining thorough and up-to-date product knowledge.
• Maintaining exceptionally high customer service levels that lead to customer loyalty and referrals.
• Maintaining good housekeeping standards and orderly administration of your work.

Helpful skills and qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent qualification
• Thorough understanding of vehicle safety standards and guidelines
• Strong problem-solving skills, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of work
• Proven ability to meet efficiency targets while maintaining a keen eye for detail
• Ability to collaborate and contribute positively within a team environment
• A current valid MOT licence is advantageous but not essential
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence
