Job summary

Group 1 Automotive is seeking a Workshop Manager for its Southend site. You will lead the workshop teams, coordinate service and repair activities, and drive customer satisfaction with proactive communication and efficient work flow.

This role requires a robust automotive background, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work under pressure while delivering great results for a busy aftersales operation.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience in motor industry roles, ideally in a main dealer environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication, attention to detail and customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day running of the workshop.
• Ensure technicians hit daily targets for service and repair work.
• Support service managers to deliver high-quality customer service.
• Aim for agreed profits and customer retention targets.

Working in our aftersales department as a Workshop Manager you will be a key part of the Retail Centre. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills to deal with customers face to face or over the phone, providing an outstanding customer service to all customers.

What you’ll do day to day

• Responsible for the day to day running of the workshop
• Ensuring the service and repair technicians achieve their daily targets
• Assisting the service managers in ensuring the department provides the best possible service to the customers
• Achieves agreed profits and retention levels

• Full UK Driving Licence
• Motor Industry experience in a similar role is essential
