Job summary

Vantage Consulting is seeking a seasoned BMS Service / Commissioning Engineer to join a well-established building controls business delivering high-quality solutions across commercial sites. The role focuses on servicing, fault finding, commissioning and maintenance of BMS systems.

The position involves travel to client sites regionally with occasional overnight stays, offering training, career progression and a strong emphasis on customer service and safety.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive service visits.
• Commission and optimise Building Management Systems.

• Produce accurate service reports and technical documentation.
• Liaise with customers and provide professional technical support.
• Travel to customer sites across the region, with occasional overnight stays where required.

BMS Service / Commissioning Engineer

We are recruiting for an experienced BMS Service / Commissioning Engineer to join a well-established building controls business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality solutions to long-standing commercial clients.

The Role

You'll be responsible for servicing, fault finding, commissioning, and maintaining Building Management Systems across a regional portfolio of commercial sites. The role combines planned maintenance, reactive support, system optimisation, and commissioning activities.
The company works predominantly with repeat clients, so the focus is on delivering a high standard of customer service rather than short-term project work.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive service visits.
• Commission and optimise Building Management Systems.
• Diagnose and rectify BMS faults.
• Complete system upgrades, modifications, and improvements.
• Produce accurate service reports and technical documentation.
• Liaise with customers and provide professional technical support.
• Ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
• Travel to customer sites across the region, with occasional overnight stays where required.

About You

We're keen to speak with engineers who have:

• Experience working with Building Management Systems (BMS) or Building Controls.
• A background in service, commissioning, or both.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• A strong understanding of control strategies and HVAC systems.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• A full UK driving licence.

Experience with Delta Controls would be advantageous but is not essential, as full product training will be provided for candidates with relevant BMS or controls experience.
