Job summary

Team BMS is seeking an experienced BMS Estimator to join our specialist Building Management Systems team. The role combines remote work with client meetings and site visits, offering a salary of £50,000-£80,000 (dependent on experience) plus a car allowance.

You will prepare detailed cost estimates for BMS projects, review drawings and tender documents, and collaborate with suppliers, clients and internal teams to ensure competitive, accurate submissions and strong commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating BMS, building controls or related building services projects.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project costing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations for BMS projects.
• Review technical specifications, drawings, tender documents and project requirements.
• Assess labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs.
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and internal teams to obtain pricing.
• Identify project risks, commercial considerations and potential cost savings.
• Support tender submissions and ensure estimates are accurate and viable.
• Attend client meetings and site visits when required.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and industry contacts.
• Contributing to estimating processes and business growth.

The Role

As BMS Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for BMS projects, supporting the business in securing new opportunities and delivering successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and quotations for BMS projects.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and commercially aware BMS Estimator with experience in the Building Management Systems or building controls industry.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience estimating BMS, building controls or related building services projects.
• A good understanding of BMS systems, associated equipment and project requirements.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project costing.
• Excellent communication, organisational and negotiation skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively in a remote environment.
• A proactive approach to client relationships and business development.
• Ambition to develop professionally and take on increased responsibility.

Candidates with strong BMS estimating experience who are ready to take the next step towards a senior leadership role are particularly encouraged to apply.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary: £50,000-£70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
