Job summary

Team BMS is seeking an experienced BMS Estimator in the UK to prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for building management systems projects. The role combines remote work with client meetings and site visits, offering a salary range of £50,000–£80,000 depending on experience and a car allowance.

You will review specifications, drawings and tender documents, assess costs, and liaise with suppliers and clients to secure competitive bids.

Responsibilities

The Role

As BMS Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for BMS projects, supporting the business in securing new opportunities and delivering successful project outcomes.

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and quotations for BMS projects.
• Reviewing technical specifications, drawings, tender documents and project requirements.
• Assessing labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor costs.
• Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and internal teams to obtain accurate pricing.
• Identifying project risks, commercial considerations and potential cost savings.
• Supporting tender submissions and ensuring estimates are accurate, competitive and commercially viable.
• Attending client meetings and site visits when required.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and industry contacts.
• Contributing to business growth and the development of estimating processes.
• Working closely with senior management, with the opportunity to take on greater leadership and commercial responsibility over time.

About You

We are looking for a motivated and commercially aware BMS Estimator with experience in the Building Management Systems or building controls industry.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience estimating BMS, building controls or related building services projects.
• A good understanding of BMS systems, associated equipment and project requirements.
• The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project costing.
• Excellent communication, organisational and negotiation skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively in a remote environment.
• A proactive approach to client relationships and business development.
• Ambition to develop professionally and take on increased responsibility.

Candidates with strong BMS estimating experience who are ready to take the next step towards a senior leadership role are particularly encouraged to apply.

Salary and Benefits

• Salary: £50,000–£70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
• Car allowance.
