Job summary

Winthrop Technologies Ltd is seeking an experienced ELV Lead / BMS Controls Engineer to join a major data centre project team in Blyth, United Kingdom. You will manage BMS/ELV package delivery from installation through to commissioning and coordinate with design teams, vendors, and clients to ensure on-time handover.

The role requires strong knowledge of Building Automation, commissioning, and system integration, with a focus on large-scale construction and data centre environments.

Qualifications

• Background in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or Controls.
• Experience with BMS/ELV systems on large‑scale construction or data centre projects.
• Strong understanding of Building Automation, commissioning and system integration.
• Ability to read technical drawings and manage vendor coordination.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage BMS/ELV package delivery from installation through to commissioning.
• Chair BMS workshops between Design team and BMS provider.
• Attend daily coordination meetings and afternoon DABs.
• Act as main point of contact for vendors, resolving site issues.
• Review drawings, RFIs, and technical submittals, progressing design queries.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure commissioning activities remain on programme.
• Attend commissioning, client, and vendor meetings.
• Review L3 testing outputs (screenshots, system performance).
• Inspect completed works for QA/QC sign-off.
• Manage and upload commissioning documentation to the Cx portal, tracking RAG status.
