Job summary

The Welsh Blood Service is recruiting a full-time Clinic Collection Assistant with driving duties to support donor reception, venepuncture, and post-donation care across Wales. Comprehensive training will be provided; no medical background required, but excellent customer service is essential.

You will travel to multiple locations using WBS fleet vehicles, support Welsh/English-speaking donors, and join a multi-skilled team focused on safe, compassionate donor experiences and high-quality

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience; autonomous practice.
• Full manual UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Category C1 & D1 licence or commitment to training within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service and direct donor care during the blood donation process.
• Perform venepuncture and drive as required, in a multi-site setting.
• Work to clinical/quality standards to safeguard donor and patient safety.
• Develop skills in venepuncture, donor screening, appointment management and reconciliation.
• Flex between blood mobiles, static sites and community clinics across a large area.
