Job summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is seeking a Blood Donation Team Assistant to support donors and donation sessions across multiple locations. You will care for donors in the post-donation recovery area, prepare refreshments, and help ensure sessions run safely and efficiently.

The role involves flexible bank shifts, with training provided and ongoing competency assessments. Join a compassionate team dedicated to saving and improving lives and delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience of dealing with the public.
• Good standard of numeracy and literacy.
• Able to follow written instructions and successfully complete training and ongoing competency assessments.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent care and customer service in the post-donation recovery area.
• Prepare and distribute refreshments and maintain observation after donation.
• Available to work a bank of shifts including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
• Travel to a variety of donation session locations by vehicle for up to 2 hours.
• Load, unload, assemble and dismantle equipment daily, including heavy objects up to 13 kg.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and infection control.
