Our organisation is all about people—the residents in our homes, the communities we serve, and our staff. We value attitude and behaviour highly, as they are central to building relationships and delivering excellent service. We seek passionate colleagues who are responsible and proactive.

As a not-for-profit housing association, we provide affordable homes and services to over 20,000 people across Greater Manchester. We have a strong social purpose and are committed to enabling people to live well in their homes and communities.

If you have a passion for fire safety, attention to detail, and enjoy completing tasks, this is a great opportunity to start your career in fire safety.

This role offers development in fire safety regulations and helps Irwell Valley Homes meet statutory obligations. You will receive comprehensive training, ongoing mentoring, and opportunities for career progression, including external qualifications for suitable candidates.

Your responsibilities will include inspecting communal areas of our blocks to ensure compliance with legislation, with inspections scheduled weekly or monthly. You will also assist the Fire Safety Team with tasks such as granting access to contractors and installing fire safety signage, all while ensuring customer satisfaction and managing associated risks.

  • Provide excellent customer care and service
  • Are IT literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
  • Possess interpersonal skills for liaising with colleagues and residents
  • Have a general understanding of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and best practices in fire safety (desirable but not essential)
  • Hold fire safety qualifications or NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate (desirable)
  • Possess a valid full driving license

We are committed to an inclusive culture and increasing diversity. We encourage applications from underrepresented groups, including females in trades and construction roles.
