Job summary

Sterling Recruitment Solutions Ltd in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated Block Manager to take ownership of the physical integrity and compliance of flagship residential buildings. This is a permanent, full-time, office-based role with a salary of £36,000.

You will manage day-to-day block operations, procure services, oversee M&E plant, lead health and fire safety compliance, vet contractors, conduct site inspections, and manage service charge budgets to ensure value for residents.

Qualifications

• Strong background in block management
• Deep understanding of Health and Safety legislation
• Technical aptitude to manage complex building services

Responsibilities

• Service Procurement: sourcing and managing high-quality soft services (cleaning, security, landscaping).
• Technical Oversight: manage M&E services and ensure plant and utilities are maintained.
• Compliance Leadership: lead Health and Fire Safety compliance and risk assessments.
• Contractor Management: vet and oversee external contractors to meet timelines, budget, and quality.
• Site Inspections: perform regular site visits to identify maintenance needs and uphold standards.
• Financial Accountability: manage service charge budgets and ensure value for stakeholders.
