We are looking for an experienced School Administrator to provide additional support within the main school office of a busy secondary school in Birmingham.
The successful candidate will need to be confident working independently, comfortable dealing with a wide range of enquiries and able to keep on top of detailed administrative work. Previous experience within a school is essential.
School Office Administration
Manage a range of day-to-day administrative tasks.
Maintain accurate pupil and staff records.
Update school databases and internal systems.
Draft, format and proofread letters, reports and correspondence.
Maintain electronic and paper filing systems.
Support staff with administrative requests.
Assist with meetings, appointments and school events.
Reception & Enquiries
Provide reception cover as required.
Welcome visitors and ensure appropriate procedures are followed.
Answer telephone calls and respond to enquiries.
Deal with parent and carer enquiries professionally.
Liaise with staff and external agencies where required.
Data & Compliance
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
Complete data entry and administrative checks.
Maintain spreadsheets and trackers.
Handle confidential information appropriately.
Follow school procedures relating to safeguarding and data protection.
Candidates must have:
Previous experience working in a school administration position.
Experience using a school MIS/database.
Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills.
Excellent written English and communication skills.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work at pace and manage competing priorities.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Professional approach when dealing with pupils, parents, staff and visitors.
Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection.
Experience of Arbor, attendance, admissions or school finance administration would be beneficial.
