Job summary

TeacherActive is partnering with a welcoming Birmingham school to recruit a School Administrator for the front office. You will be the first point of contact for parents and visitors, handling calls and emails with a professional, confidential approach. Experience in SIMS or Arbor is preferred, with strong IT and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a first point of contact for parents, carers, visitors and external professionals.
  • Answering telephone calls professionally and dealing with enquiries efficiently.
  • Providing excellent customer service to parents and carers.
  • Using SIMS, Arbor or other school systems to maintain accurate pupil information.
  • Supporting attendance and absence administration where required.
  • Managing emails, correspondence and general school enquiries.
  • Updating records and maintaining accurate administrative information.
  • Supporting the organisation of appointments, meetings and school events.
  • Providing general administrative support to senior leaders and teaching staff.
  • Ensuring confidential information is handled securely and professionally.

Introduction to the Role

TeacherActive is delighted to be working with a welcoming and supportive school in Hockley, Birmingham, which is seeking an experienced School Administrator to join its busy office team.

The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school office and will often be the first point of contact for parents, carers, visitors and external professionals.

We are ideally looking for somebody who has previous experience working within a school office and is confident using school management information systems such as SIMS and/or Arbor.

This is a highly people-focused role, so an excellent telephone manner, strong communication skills and the ability to provide a professional and welcoming service to parents and carers are essential.
