Job summary

Anglian Water is seeking a Lead Maintenance Engineer to oversee a comprehensive maintenance programme across designated sites in Northampton. You will drive efficiency, align planned work with shutdowns, and lead CBM routing initiatives while liaising with multiple teams.

The role requires strong communication, autonomous working, and a proactive, collaborative mindset. A full UK driving license is essential and site operations run 24/7.

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical maintenance.
• Fault finding and improvement of mechanical/electrical assets via PM and RCA.
• Knowledge of Contractor management and MOC policies.

Responsibilities

• Drive improvements in performance and efficiency of assets and maintenance activities.
• Ensure effective day-to-day delivery of planned and reactive maintenance work.
• Own design, development, and optimisation of CBM routes and alerts.
• Ensure safety-critical equipment maintenance is completed on time and in line with compliance.
• Provide mechanical and electrical technical support to Maintenance Managers and teams; lead projects to reduce costs.

What will you be doing?

The Lead Maintenance Engineer will play a pivotal role in the oversight and delivery of critical maintenance activities, with a particular focus on process safetycritical tasks. The roleis responsible fordelivering a comprehensive maintenance programme across designated sites, including time-based, condition-based, andperformancebasedinterventionsthrough the local maintenance teams and designated framework contractors,while driving improvements that reduce asset downtime and increase asset availability.

You will also play a key role in aligning planned work with local shutdowns to improve efficiency in the delivery of planned, condition-based, and performance-based maintenance activities. We are seeking an individual who thrives in a collaborative environment andpossessesstrong communicationskills to effectively liaise with a wide range of teams.

You will:

• Drive improvements in the performance and efficiency of operational assets and maintenance activities within the assigned area.
• Ensure the effective day-to-day delivery of planned and reactive maintenance work.
• Own the design, development, and optimisation of Condition-Based Monitoring (CBM) routes and associated alerts.
• Ensure all safetycriticalequipment maintenance activities are completed on time and in line with compliance requirements.
• Provide mechanical and electrical technical support to Maintenance Managers and their teams. Lead and undertake project work within the area, including initiatives to reduce operating costs and optimise mechanical and electrical asset performance

What does it take to be aLeadMaintenanceEngineer?

• Possess a minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Electrical/Mechanical maintenance background
• Proven practical experience of fault finding and improvement of mechanical and electrical assets through Planned Preventative Maintenance and strong Root Cause Analysis skills
• Good understanding of Contractor managementand MOCpolicies and procedures
• Knowledge of Water Recycling processes and associated Health and Safety requirements knowledge is essential
• Experience using various IT programmes including SAP,IRISand Power BI is desirable
• Flexible approach to work as the sitesoperate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
• Ability to work autonomously
