Job summary

St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Carshalton is seeking a part-time Biomedical Support Worker (Band 2) to join the Blood Sciences Team. The role involves sample preparation, data entry and answering enquiries as part of a multi-site pathology service.

Applicants should have strong verbal and written communication and be able to work effectively with Biomedical Scientists. Training is provided, with shifts including early, late and night duties and enhanced pay for weekends

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with Biomedical Scientists as part of a team.
• Willingness to train and provide service at multiple Trust sites.

Responsibilities

• Support Blood Sciences testing out of hours as required.
• Prepare samples for analysis and input patient data.
• Deal with enquiries within Pathology specimen reception.
• Work across sites as part of a pan-pathology team.
