Job summary

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking enthusiastic Biomedical Scientists to join the Cellular Pathology team at Royal Victoria Infirmary. The role involves supporting Histology, Cytology and related services, with opportunities to contribute to staff training and quality assurance.

Applicants must be HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists; IBMS Specialist Portfolio holders may be appointed at Specialist Band 6.

Qualifications

• BSc in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent qualification.
• HCPC registration is required.
• IBMS Specialist Diploma in Cellular Pathology or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to provision of an effective Cellular Pathology service.
• Rotate between histology, cytology, neuropathology and related sections.
• Assist in staff training, quality assurance and service development.
