Biomedical Scientist

Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital | Pathology | Permanent | Full Time | Up to £38,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience
37.5 hours per week

Main duties of the job

• Deliver high-quality pathology services.
• Perform biomedical diagnostic testing, interpretation, reporting and quality control.
• Keep records of specimens, results, reagents and consumables.
• Support the validation and assessment of new equipment and new diagnostic procedures.
• Help ensure we deliver the very best experience for patients.

Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital is a stunning 46-bed private hospital in West Hampshire with specialisms in Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Urology, Women's Health, and Spinal surgery. The hospital benefits from onsite Radiology, Pathology, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, and Hydrotherapy, providing a comprehensive package of care. Facilities include 16 consulting rooms, 46 private bedrooms with en-suite facilities, a 24-hour resident doctor, four operating theatres, and an endoscopy suite.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• A HCPC registration (required).
• A BSc in Biomedical Science (or equivalent qualification/experience).

Experience

• Blood sciences laboratory experience.
• Relevant laboratory experience in Haematology, Chemistry, and Blood Transfusion biomedical science.
• Good working knowledge of different analytical equipment in a range of multi-disciplinary techniques.
