A leading healthcare provider in Derby is seeking a proactive Biomedical Scientist to join their Histopathology team. This role offers opportunities to develop skills in Histology and troubleshooting, with full training provided. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge in Routine Histology and IHC/Specials, and will contribute to a supportive and dynamic work environment.
University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust prioritizes patient-centered care. Derbyshire Pathology Services, hosted by the Trust, aims to provide high-quality, sustainable pathology services across Derbyshire, accredited to UKAS ISO: 15189 standards.
We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated registered Biomedical Scientist with excellent communication and organizational skills to join our Histopathology team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in Histology, including A-C category dissection, digital Pathology, and more, working Monday to Saturday.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in Routine Histology, IHC/Specials, and microscopy QC, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues. Familiarity with automated IHC machines and molecular techniques is desirable, as the department utilizes various platforms.
Full training and support will be provided, including a dedicated mentor for competency assessment. We encourage participation in staff and team development, with expectations for Band 5 staff to support training and competency of others.
Understanding of ISO 15189 standards, health & safety requirements, audit, and training techniques is desirable.
