The Oratory School in Reading seeks an enthusiastic Lead Teacher of Science Biology to join our dynamic, supportive team, delivering high-quality teaching across all levels and subjects, including Psychology. The successful candidate will inspire curiosity and foster academic achievement in a broad science curriculum.

You will develop schemes of work, monitor student progress, contribute to school events, and promote the subject to Sixth Form recruitment. Part-time hours may be considered.

Qualifications

• Strong subject knowledge across the sciences with ability to teach Psychology.
• Experience leading curriculum development and assessment in a school setting.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the teaching of Biology and contribute to the wider science curriculum.
• Develop schemes of work and resources aligned to assessment targets.
• Monitor pupil progress and support weaker candidates.
• Collaborate with Head of Science and department to drive improvement.
• Represent the department at school events and contribute to co-curricular activities.
