Job summary

BHASVIC seeks a suitably qualified Science Technician to support Biology and occasionally Physics, in a busy department. The role is permanent, part-time (18.5 hours per week) across three days, term-time only with a pro-rata holiday entitlement and a salary of £12,169 per annum.

Hours are Monday–Wednesday with specific start/finish times; early morning and/or late afternoon work is expected. A science degree or equivalent laboratory experience is required, with LGPS membership.

Qualifications

• Requires a science degree in biology or GCSE/A-level in science with at least two years' lab experience.
• Contract is 18.5 hours per week, over 3 days, Term Time Only plus 1 day pro-rata in holidays.
• Salary is pro-rata £12,169 per annum (Grade 4, spine point 11).

Responsibilities

• Work mainly in the Biology Department, with some support in physics and biology.
• Flexibility for early mornings and/or late afternoons when required.
• Deal with practical activities and laboratory tasks in a busy school environment.
