Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim UK is seeking a Process Engineer to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our Animal Health manufacturing facility. You will work with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Engineering to improve equipment performance and deliver projects in a regulated biologics environment.

Qualifications

• A degree or equivalent qualification in process, chemical, mechanical or another relevant engineering discipline.
• Engineering experience within a manufacturing, production or similarly regulated environment.
• Practical experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, process improvement or reliability engineering.
• Understanding of GMP/GxP, health, safety and environmental requirements within a regulated operation.
• Experience planning and delivering engineering or capital projects, including management of scope, budget, schedule, contractors and suppliers.
• Strong analytical, planning, prioritisation and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to collaborate effectively with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering and other stakeholders.
• Strong written communication and engineering documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of manufacturing plant and equipment.
• Investigate issues using structured problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and availability.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve process efficiency, throughput, reliability and cost effectiveness.
• Lead engineering projects, equipment installations and upgrades, managing scope, budget, schedule, risk and coordination with contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Support safe and compliant operations through risk assessments, HAZOPs, technical investigations, audits and robust engineering documentation.
• Provide technical expertise to Production, Quality and Maintenance teams.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, engineering standards, specifications and other technical documentation.
• Train and coach operators and technicians in equipment operation, maintenance and applicable GMP requirements.
