Job description

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Billings Specialist to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the Billing Team and Billing Manager in processing accurate and timely billing/distribution to customers. You will be instrumental in ensuring customer contractual terms and departmental deadlines are met, while working closely with various internal departments. Your excellent problem-solving skills will be put to good use as you handle billing and invoicing enquiries from both internal and external customers, driving them through to resolution.

As a Billings Specialist, your primary role will involve supporting the Billing Team in ensuring that all invoices are processed accurately and on time. You will be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining recurring customer billing records. Your keen eye for detail will be crucial in ensuring that all data received is invoiced correctly. You will also take charge of distributing generated invoices via various channels. Your strong analytical skills will come into play as you take responsibility for the in-depth analysis of billing/invoice data from multiple systems. Furthermore, your excellent communication skills will be essential as you manage internal & external queries, driving them towards resolution.

  • Timely and accurate raising of customer invoices (recurring and one-off)
  • Accurate creation, update, and maintenance of recurring customer billing records
  • Ensuring all data received is invoiced accurately and efficiently daily, monthly, quarterly, annually & ad-hoc to departmental deadlines, in line with contractual terms & customer specifics
  • Distribution of generated invoices via post, email or onto customer portals
  • Taking responsibility for in-depth analysis, manipulation of billing/invoice data from multiple systems
  • Working closely, dealing and managing internal & external queries, driving the resolution whilst keeping all parties regularly updated
  • Contributing & participating in adhering to and updating billing processes and joining in team/departmental meetings

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Billings Specialist role is someone who can work both independently and as part of a team. You should have a flexible approach to work and excellent organisational skills that allow you to manage your time effectively. Your strong communication skills will enable you to build rapport and liaise with different stakeholders. You should be accountable, responsible, and proactive in your approach to work. Your keen eye for detail and analytical skills will be crucial in this role. Previous experience in the creation of customer invoices and advanced Excel skills are highly desirable.

  • Exposure to VAT rules in relation to sales invoicing is highly advantageous
  • Experience of Access Dimensions would be advantageous

This role would suit candidate's who have previous transactional finance experience (accounts payable, accounts receivable, finance admin, credit control) or if you looking to embark on your finance journey
