Job summary

Trinity Fire & Security is seeking a Billing Team Leader based in Abingdon to oversee day-to-day billing operations, drive process improvements, and develop the billing team to ensure accurate, timely invoicing and compliant revenue recognition.

You will manage invoicing cycles, resolve billing discrepancies, and provide performance reporting while supporting service levels and cash collection targets. The role requires strong Excel skills, leadership, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a billing, finance administration, accounts receivable, or revenue operations environment.
• Experience dealing with customer billing queries and escalations.
• Experience using billing, finance, or ERP systems.
• Experience of working with performance targets and service level agreements.
• Understanding of billing processes and financial controls.
• Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing deadlines.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the billing team to deliver high standards of performance and customer service.
• Oversee the production of customer invoices and billing schedules.
• Manage PO chasing and ensuring all work has the required PO.
• Review and resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, and escalated customer queries.
• Monitor billing processes to identify risks, errors, or inefficiencies.
• Identify opportunities to improve billing processes, controls, and customer experience.
• Act as a key escalation point in relation to queries and issues for customers and internal stakeholders.
• Produce and analyse billing performance reports.
