Job summary

Supertemps is seeking a Bilingual Learning Support Assistant in Llangefni to support young adults with learning opportunities and help them reach their potential. The role focuses on integrating learners into peer groups, developing learning materials, and giving constructive feedback.

The ideal candidate will have experience in support roles, qualifications in numeracy and literacy, and ideally be Welsh speaking.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar support-based role
• Relevant qualifications in numeracy and literacy
• Welsh speaking (ideally)
• Experience working with diverse learners and staff
• Excellent IT, communication and inter-personal skills
• Current enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to complete one

Responsibilities

• Enable and encourage student integration within peer groups
• Build relationships with subject tutors and help develop learning materials, tasks, assignments and assessments while recording progress
• Support learners during activities and provide constructive feedback related to targets
• Attend meetings with subject tutors and support teams
• Provide mobility assistance to students as needed and accompany students as required
• Perform any other duties reasonably requested by the Director or Manager

As a Bilingual Learning Support Assistant, you will be:

• Enabling and encouraging student integration within peer groups
• Building working relationships with subject tutors and helping with the development and preparation of learning materials, tasks, assignments, and assessments whilst recording of learners' progress
• Supporting learners during activities and reinforcing tutor instructions and providing constructive feedback to learners in relation to targets
• Attending relevant meetings with subject tutors and support teams
• Providing mobility assistance to students as and when required and accompanying students as and when required
• Any other duties reasonably requested by the Director or Manager

We are keen to speak to you if you have:

• Previous experience in a similar support-based role
• Relevant qualifications also in numeracy and literacy
• Ideally Welsh speaking
• Experience working with a diverse range of learners and staff including whose behaviour at time may be challenging
• An ability to show empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by young people post 16
• Excellent IT, Communication and Inter-personal skills
• A current enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to complete one

This is a temporary on going position, working 26 hours per week starting at the end of August / beginning of September based in Llangefni, Anglesey with an hourly pay rate of£13.45, plus accrued holiday pay.

Please note, this role is subject to DBS certificate being completed and registering with the Education Workforce Council EWC (if not already done so).
