Job summary

The Supply Register, on behalf of Coleg Cambria, is seeking enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join the colleges bank staff at Wrexham. You will help learners overcome barriers to learning and support their progress in a college setting.

Salary is £14.02–£15.71 per hour, with holiday pay. This is temporary bank work, offering flexible hours to support learners and staff across Coleg Cambria’s provision, including Welsh language culture support.

Qualifications

• The successful Learning Support Assistant will have excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt their communication style to meet individual learner needs.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills at Level 2 or above.
• Empathy and an understanding of a range of learning difficulties and disabilities.
• Resilience, flexibility, patience and a good sense of humour.
• Previous experience supporting learners with additional learning needs in a classroom setting, or significant relevant personal experience.
• A genuine passion for empowering and enabling young people.
• The ability to build positive working relationships with learners and staff; confidence in supporting groups of learners.
• A positive and proactive approach to challenging behaviour.
• Welsh language skills are desirable for this role.
