Job summary

Supertemps Ltd in Rhyl is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide personalised support to learners with ALN, helping them engage positively with education and college life. You will work with tutors to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment and help learners build independence and resilience by adapting support to their needs.

You’ll promote wellbeing and inclusion, assist with learning activities, and maintain confidential records.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners in an educational, training or vocational setting, including those with ALN.
• Qualifications within the relevant field, including Supporting Learners with ALN, with a willingness to work towards further development where required.
• Understanding of person-centred approaches and inclusive learning practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, adaptable and supportive approach.
• Ability to speak Welsh (conversational).
• Enhanced DBS clearance is essential for this role.

• Working alongside tutors and specialist support staff to create an inclusive, supportive and encouraging learning environment


• Supporting learners to develop independence, confidence and resilience by adapting support to meet their individual needs


• Assisting with learning activities, including adapting materials, supporting assessments and helping learners achieve their goals


• Promoting learner wellbeing, inclusion and positive behaviour while maintaining accurate and confidential records

To be successful, you will need:

• Experience supporting learners in an educational, training or vocational setting, including those with ALN


• Qualifications within the relevant field, including Supporting Learners with ALN, with a willingness to work towards further development where required

This is a temporary position starting at the end of August / beginning of September (initially for the first term), working 19.5 hours per week. You’ll be based in Rhyl, starting on an hourly rate of £13.45 per hour plus benefits.
