Job summary

ELP Consult is seeking an experienced Data Centre Electrical Engineer for our London Data Centre. You will oversee electrical operations, lead technical investigations, and drive lifecycle and efficiency improvements, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a minimum of 8 years in data centre electrical operations, a Bachelor's in Engineering, and professional credentials (CEng/IEng preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• CEng or IEng qualification preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Data Centre operations on the electrical side.
• Candidates with less experience may be considered for junior positions.
• Strong knowledge of Electrical Power Engineering.
• Familiarity with electrical calculation software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Positive attitude with strong teamwork spirit.
• Good stress management skills.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in English and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Operational Oversight & Vendor Management: act as technical lead to ensure electrical operations meet global standards and SLAs; review SOPs and EOPs; audit maintenance records and activities.
• Technical Authority & Risk Mitigation: SME for complex electrical issues; lead RCA for power incidents; oversee SPOF mitigations; supervise high-risk operations.
• Strategic Asset & Lifecycle Management: review electrical system modifications and capacity expansion; support CAPEX planning; drive energy efficiency via PUE trends.
• Compliance & Safety Standards: ensure electrical systems comply with local regulatory requirements; promote Electrical Safety Programs including LOTO and Arc Flash procedures.
