Job summary

Morrison Construction in Robroyston is seeking a skilled Bid Writer to join the Bid Team and produce clear pre-qualification and tender submissions. You will develop bid strategies, lead launch meetings, and collaborate with experts to craft compelling responses.

You will also create CVs, org charts, and promotional materials while ensuring messaging, quality, and format meet objectives. A strong English background and construction experience are essential, with flexibility for varying workloads.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Contractor.
  • Excellent use of the English language and writing skills.
  • A construction background and ability to understand technical information.
  • Ability to communicate with technically oriented people and write responses.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be willing to support the team – a Team Player with a strong work ethic.
  • Flexibility to meet fluctuating workloads and tight deadlines.
  • IT Literacy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and InDesign.

Job Title – Bid Writer

Location – Robroyston

An opportunity has arisen for a Bid Writer to join the team at Morrison Construction

What you will be doing:

As part of the Bid Team, you will be required to write clear and concise pre‑qualification and tender submissions including:

  • Working with others to develop bid winning strategies.
  • Compliance with defined governance and bid management processes.
  • Leading and participating in tender launch and finalisation meetings, including content specific workshops and regular progress meetings.
  • Developing document layouts with the bid‑coordinator.
  • Liaison and collaboration with “subject matter” experts to develop and write Client and bid focused market leading responses.
  • Producing CV’s and organisational charts.
  • Review of the final submissions to ensure that key messages, unique selling points, quality, format and content meet agreed objectives.
  • Create promotional/marketing materials and award submissions.
  • Support our online presence – creating social media news stories etc.
  • Developing and maintaining project case studies.
Competency Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Contractor.
  • Excellent use of the English language and excellent writing skills. An ability to identify and solve problems in a timely manner is essential.
  • A construction background and be able to understand technical information.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with technically oriented people, including the ability to work with construction staff, discuss technical questions and write responses.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be willing to support the team and others – a Team Player with a strong work ethic.
  • Have the flexibility to meet the challenges of fluctuating workloads and multiple assignments with tight deadlines that may require non‑standard work hours from time to time.
  • IT Literacy including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat and InDesign.
