Senior Project Manager

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Project Manager to join the Team within Morrison Construction. Ideally, you will be based in or around Inverness and will have proven experience of working for a Main Contractor.

What you Will Be Doing

• Form part of a winning bid team to support construction deliverables and win strategies.
• Assist and provide technical and financial input to tender submissions for new work.
• Manage the day‑to‑day liaison with external supply chain, consultants and customers.
• Assist and provide input to all financial aspects of the project to ensure maximum service while maintaining and improving profitability.
• Maintain and enforce safety standards required by statute and the company’s safety policies, and ensure all sustainability and environmental requirements are implemented.
• Responsible for all production aspects of the project from Contract Award to Completion of Making Good Defects Certificate, including EOD liability period sign off.
• Ensure effective commercial control is exercised, optimizing project profitability and ensuring full compliance with the Business Management System.
• Prepare and present clear and accurate reports both internally and to the client.
• Maintain and enhance relationships with all external parties, including customers, consultants and supply chain, in line with the company’s Partnering ethos.

About You

• Experience in the Construction industry, specifically on Design and Build, new build and refurbishment projects.
• Significant experience of multi‑site projects valued over £10million.
• Hold or be moving towards a professional qualification HNC, ONC or equivalent.
• Ability to work as part of and lead a team.
• Experience managing client staff, sub‑contractors and all aspects of the build process.
• Excellent communicator.
• Ability to understand and interpret design and specifications fully, ensuring team compliance and addressing non‑conformance.
• Strong leader, well organised, and able to motivate.
• Acknowledgement that an academic qualification is preferred, but a trade background is acceptable; membership to a professional body is an advantage.
