Job summary

Irwin M&E Limited in Belfast seeks a Bid Manager to lead the bid cycle across mechanical, electrical, energy and renewables projects. Based in the Belfast office with occasional travel to Portadown, you will write content, coordinate evidence and ensure submissions meet specifications.

You will manage deadlines under pressure, develop compelling responses, maintain the bid library and support a growing Bid and Marketing team with strong writing and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Strong bid writing capabilities and experience in public sector bid management.
• Experience in public sector bid writing and reviewing responses.
• Excellent time management, organisation and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work under strict deadlines.
• Good interpersonal skills and reliability; ability to work on own initiative.
• Full driving licence and IT literacy (MS Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Desirable: a third-level degree; construction/FM/mechanical/electrical industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Managing the entire bid cycle from review to submission, and through to mobilisation.
• Writing content for public and private sector bids, ensuring they comply with the specification.
• Writing effective, concise and compelling content under strict deadlines.
• Reviewing and editing content with subject matter experts to craft responses.
• Ensuring all bid submissions align with the specification and instructions.
• Preparing content for bid presentations.
• Maintaining and improving the bid library with case studies and CVs.
• Supporting other bid team members to build writing confidence.
