Job summary

Bidrecruitment in Northern Ireland is seeking a bid writer to join its team. The role collaborates with a bid coordinator and business development manager, focusing on winning tenders through clear, compelling responses.

You will develop content from scratch, interview SMEs, review and edit submissions, and ensure high-quality, client-aligned proposals across the bid process. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office.

Qualifications

• Bid experience in construction or civil engineering.
• Excellent written skills are required.
• Confident in building relationships with clients and SMEs.
• Able to review and edit content effectively.
• Able to write content from scratch for tenders.

Responsibilities

• Develop clear win strategies and answer planning for bids.
• Review PQQ and tender requirements and plan submission approach.
• Carry out research to support high-quality bid submissions.
• Lead assigned bids, organise kick-off meetings, plan tasks, coordinate responses.
• Produce, edit, and review bespoke tender responses aligned with client needs.
• Work with internal teams and external consultants for technical content.
• Prepare materials for client presentations and attend interviews as required.
• Maintain bid information within bid software and company systems.
• Support continuous improvement by monitoring feedback and updating processes.
• Carry out other duties to support the bid team.
• Visit project sites to gather information for case studies.

An award winning construction and civil engineering company is seeking a bid writer to join their team. This is a new role for the business and will work alongside a bid coordinator and business development manager.

You will have bid experience within construction or civil engineering and will be based in Northern Ireland. You must have excellent written skills, and be confident building relationships, interviewing SMEs, reviewing and editing content and writing content from scratch.

This is a hybrid role, working 3 days in the office. Salary is £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience. You must be able to work independently and show a real understanding of the bid process within the relevant sector/s.

Duties and responsibilities

• Develop clear win strategies and answer planning.
• Review PQQ and tender requirements and plan the overall submission approach.
• Carry out research to support high-quality, well-informed bid submissions.
• Lead assigned bids, including organising kick-off meetings, planning tasks, and coordinating written responses.
• Produce, edit, and review bespoke tender responses that are clear, accurate, engaging, and aligned with client needs
• Work with internal teams and external consultants to develop high-quality technical and methodology content.
• Prepare materials for client presentations and attend interviews as required.
• Maintain and update bid information within bid software and company systems.
• Support continuous improvement by monitoring feedback and implementing updates to processes and documents.
• Carry out any other reasonable duties to support the wider work-winning team.
• Visit project sites and work with site teams to gather information to aid in the preparation of case studies.
