Job summary

NG Bailey Group’s Freedom division is seeking an Estimator / Bid Manager to lead HV/EHV substation tendering across the UK. You will review enquiry packs, visit sites, and prepare costed proposals with direct labour costs and supply-chain quotes.

This role requires 5+ years in HV engineering in a project environment, 2+ years in commercial estimating or bidding, and a willingness to travel nationwide. Competitive package plus car/allowance and flexible benefits.

Qualifications

• HV engineering experience in a project environment (5+ years) focused on HV/EHV substations.
• Experience in commercial estimating, bidding, and customer-facing roles (2+ years).
• Knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and Construction Phase Plans.
• Ability to review tender packs and compile costed proposals.

Responsibilities

• Review tender packs to determine scope and requirements.
• Visit sites to assess project needs or delegate.
• Create costed proposals using direct labour costs and supply-chain quotes.
• Consider timelines, resources, and methodologies for delivery.
• Submit proposals to Senior Management for review and risk assessment.
• Compile handover packs for Operations after tender success.
