Job summary

Donovan Marrison Ltd in Surrey is seeking two experienced Bid Managers for contract roles to support a major engineering organisation in a secure, regulated environment.

The Bid Manager will take responsibility for managing bids throughout the full lifecycle, from opportunity qualification through to submission and post-submission activities. BPSS security clearance is required, and the role offers hybrid working (3 days in office, 2 days remote).

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Bid Management, ideally within Defence, Nuclear, Government, Infrastructure or another highly regulated sector.
• Demonstrable experience managing complex competitive bids from qualification through to submission.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across technical, commercial, operational and business functions.
• Good understanding of public-sector procurement and tendering processes.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong proposal development, content management and review skills.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the complete bid lifecycle from qualification through to submission.
• Develop bid strategies aligned with customer requirements and business objectives.
• Manage bid schedules, deliverables, reviews and governance activities.
• Lead multidisciplinary bid teams and coordinate contributions from technical, commercial and operational stakeholders.
• Lead the development and production of proposal responses.
• Review and challenge proposal content to ensure quality, compliance, clarity and consistency.
• Organise and facilitate bid workshops, kick-off meetings and review sessions.
• Coordinate pre- and post-submission clarification responses.
• Identify and manage commercial, technical, operational and delivery risks.
• Provide progress updates, risk reporting and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement of bid processes, templates and knowledge management.
• Maintain appropriate bid documentation and submission records.
