Overall purpose

We are looking for a strategic and detail-oriented Bid Manager to join our dynamic team at OryxAlign. In this pivotal role, based in the London office with the option for hybrid working, you will lead the development of comprehensive bids and proposals, ensuring that our offerings are competitive, compelling, de-risked and aligned with client expectations. You will collaborate closely with various internal stakeholders to drive the bidding process while employing your expertise in project management and proposal strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end bid management process including the planning, preparation, and submission of proposals to clients for opportunities in construction, commercial properties, and data centres
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, solutions, procurement to gather necessary information and ensure compliance with bid requirements
  • Develop and maintain a repository of bid materials and templates to streamline the proposal process
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to enhance bid strategy and positioning to increase win rates.
  • Facilitate regular bid review meetings and coordinate feedback from key stakeholders
  • Monitor and track bid outcomes to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices
  • Conduct the competitive market intelligence to better understand the competitor landscape and best position OryxAlign.
  • Leading and coordinating the bid process, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
  • Create detailed, customer-focused proposals that meet client requirements and highlight OryxAlign's' strengths.
  • Ensure all bids meet compliance requirements with OryxAlign standards.
  • Track and report on bid outcomes and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

What we need from our Bid Manager:

As a Bid Manager you will have experience and understanding of the construction, data centre and commercial property sectors as well as an understanding of managed IT services. Familiarity with the end-to-end bid lifecycle is essential including RFPs, RFQs and tender submissions. The successful candidate must have knowledge of industry standards relevant regulations and compliance in IT and construction.

As a Bid Manager you will have strong project management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to negotiate and secure favourable terms and conditions with clients and suppliers.

Experience and expertise

  • Proven experience in bid management or proposal writing within a relevant industry
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex bids and proposals
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively
  • Experience in working within the construction, data centre and commercial property sectors
  • Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, etc.) is a plus
  • Technical certifications in networking, cloud and cyber technologies or experience in working with leading IT providers to validate technical expertise.
  • ITIL Certification: Understanding of IT service management best practices.
