Job summary

Motia is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to design, develop, maintain and enhance dashboards and reports that support data-driven decision making. You will work with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable BI solutions using Qlik Sense and Power BI.

Leveraging SQL queries and data models, you will optimise data warehouses and ETL processes while contributing to agile projects and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in data analytics, business intelligence, computer science or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Developer using BI technologies (Qlik preferred).
  • Experience working with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
  • Good knowledge of SQL development and queries and experience in data warehouse design and ETL framework.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages - Word, Outlook, Excel.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies and experience working in an agile team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise.
  • Good communication and decision-making skills.
  • Customer focused mindset with a commitment to delivering value.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to take the initiative and be innovative.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain and enhance dashboards, reports and self-service analytics solutions using Qlik Sense and/or Power BI.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business to gather requirements and translate these into scalable BI solutions.
  • Develop and optimise SQL queries, views and data models to support reporting and analytical requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, data quality and operational efficiency through automation and enhanced analytics.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to BI solutions, dashboards and underlying data.
  • Ensure reporting solutions are accurate, performant and aligned with business requirements.
  • Support the adoption of data-driven decision making by providing insight, training and guidance to business users.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, SQL administrators, and other BI developers to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives) and contribute to iterative development cycles.
  • Any other duties as may be reasonably required.

  • Hybrid working - 2/3 days on site at our Leeds Head Office a week
