Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to design, develop and support PLC and HMI software for bespoke automation projects in a well-established UK engineering environment. The role spans from concept through commissioning, collaborating with an multi-disciplinary team on technically challenging machinery.

You will work on control software for bespoke systems, with a focus on reliability, maintainability and performance.

Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years' experience developing, modifying and troubleshooting PLC software in industrial machinery/automation.
Experience developing and configuring HMI/operator interface systems.
Strong understanding of industrial control systems, sensors, actuators, motor control, safety circuits and machine interlocks.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, I/O schedules and functional specifications.
Excellent fault-finding, commissioning and software debugging skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain PLC software for bespoke machinery and automation systems.
Develop HMI/operator interface screens with alarms, diagnostics and displays.
Interpret electrical schematics, I/O schedules and specs to create robust software.
Support testing, commissioning, customer acceptance and field modifications.
Produce and maintain software documentation, versioning and backups.
Collaborate with Electrical Design, Production, Sales, Purchasing and customers throughout projects.
Identify opportunities to standardise and improve software reliability across platforms.
