Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Controls Engineer to design and commission bespoke automation systems in a modern Plymouth facility. You will develop PLC programs, write HMIs, and provide SCADA support for projects across the food and pharmaceutical sectors.

The role involves working mostly in the office with some travel to client sites in the UK. Experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs is preferred, and a full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Experience developing PLC programs for automation systems.
• Proficient in HMI screenwriting and SCADA support.
• Willingness to travel to client sites in the UK and abroad.

Responsibilities

• Develop PLC programs, upgrade HMIs, and provide SCADA support.
• Commission bespoke systems at client sites.
• Role is predominantly office-based with some site work (approximately 85%/15%).
