Job summary

Lincolnshire County Council is seeking a Coroners Officer to support families and coordinate with medical, police, mortuary and funeral services across the Greater Lincolnshire area.

You will manage case files, arrange post-mortems, and prepare for inquests while ensuring compliance with legislation. The role requires travel across the county and a commitment to clear, empathetic communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Support bereaved families with empathy and clear information through the coronial process.
• Collaborate with doctors, police, mortuary staff, pathologists and funeral directors to gather information.
• Manage case files, arrange post-mortems, and prepare for inquests ensuring compliance with legislation.
• Participate in out-of-hours rota to provide support after deaths in the community.
• Help new team members learn processes and share knowledge.
