Lincolnshire County Council is recruiting a Coroners Officer for the Boston office to support bereaved families across the Greater Lincolnshire area. You will work with professionals from multiple services, handling cases with care and respect while maintaining sensitive communications.

The role requires empathy, organised case management, and the ability to travel across the County. A focus on public service and teamwork is essential, with training provided for coronial processes and record

Qualifications

Clear, empathetic communication with bereaved families.
Organised and calm under pressure, able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Experience with record management systems or similar tools is desirable.

Responsabilités

Support bereaved families with empathy and clear information through the coronial process.
Collaborate with doctors, police, mortuary staff, pathologists and funeral directors to gather information and assist investigations.
Manage case files, arrange post-mortems, and prepare for inquests in line with legislation and sensitivity.
Take part in out-of-hours rota to provide support after deaths in the community.
Help new team members learn the ropes and share knowledge.
