South Kesteven District Council is seeking a Benefits Officer to join our team. You will assess entitlement to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support, and award entitlement where appropriate, handling complex claims with accuracy and timeliness.

Working under the direction of the Benefits Team Leader or Senior Benefits Officer, you will communicate with claimants in person, by telephone and in writing, ensuring payments are made in line with government guidance and departmental procedures.

To work under the direction of the Benefits Team Leader or Senior Benefits Officer to make timely and accurate assessments of entitlement to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support.

To award entitlement to Housing Benefits / Council Tax Support where appropriate and manage a caseload of complex claims, ensuring that payments are made promptly and in accordance with Government guidelines and Departmental procedures. This will involve contact with claimants calling in person, face to face, by telephone and by correspondence.
