Job summary

Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Bench Joiner on behalf of our client, a manufacturing company based in Witham, on a temporary to permanent basis.

You will assemble timber components, read technical drawings and operate woodworking machinery (saws, routers and planers) to produce finished products. Hours 8am-5pm, salary up to £18.00 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Previous bench joiner or cabinet maker experience is essential.
• Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Experience operating woodworking machinery and using saws, routers and planers.
• Strong practical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and get on with the task at hand.
• Health and safety conscious.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to produce work to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Assemble timber components and products to specification.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assembling timber components and products to specification
• Reading and working from technical drawings
• Operating woodworking machinery safely and accurately
• Using saws, routers and planers
• Sanding, scraping and planning final assembled timber products to achieve a flawless finish
• Preparing finished products ready for varnishing, staining or painting
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and to the required quality standards
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
• Carrying out any additional tasks required for the effective operation of the department.

Experience, education & qualifications

• Previous experience as a Bench Joiner or Cabinet Maker is essential
