Job summary

Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Bench Joiner on behalf of our client, a manufacturing company based in Witham, on a temporary to permanent basis.

You will assemble timber components, read technical drawings and operate woodworking machinery (saws, routers and planers) to produce finished products. Hours 8am-5pm, salary up to £18.00 per hour depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Previous bench joiner or cabinet maker experience is essential.
• Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Experience operating woodworking machinery and using saws, routers and planers.
• Strong practical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and get on with the task at hand.
• Health and safety conscious.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to produce work to a high standard.

Responsibilities

• Assemble timber components and products to specification.
• Read and work from technical drawings.
• Operate woodworking machinery safely and accurately.
• Use saws, routers and planers.
• Sand, scrape and plane timber products to achieve a flawless finish.
• Prepare finished products for varnishing, staining or painting.
• Ensure work is completed accurately and to quality standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Carry out additional tasks for the department as required.
